Error 111 in laptop
BEFORE THE ERROR SHOWED UP
Before the problem occurs, the computer works very slow, so slow, that you suspect something is wrong. Something is definitely wrong.
Next, there is limited access to websites. More and more websites become inaccessible. The laptop works even slower. A stacking error involving the websites is suspected. The favourite websites in Bookmark cannot be accessed. Later almost all the bookmarks don't work. History also doesn't seem to work.
Google Chrome stops working. It won't open or launch at all.
Mozilla Firefox doesn't work at all. Never opened.
Only Internet Explorer (IE) still works even though the other browsers don't work.
All websites tried will return an error message at the bottom (in light grey):
Error 111 (net::ERR_TUNNEL_CONNECTION_FAILED): Unknown error.
This error means there is no connectivity to the Internet via Google Chrome, etc except IE.
This error has to do with certificates of the inaccesible websites and the browsers that won't launch.
WHAT I DID
Open Control Panel.
Look at where the programs are and look at what their certificates say.
In mine, all the browsers that won't launch now have a FRAUDULENT designation under Untrusted tab.
I then click each certificate, click Export, Save in a folder I created called '1Certificate'.
I saved each certificate in turn as cert1, cert2, cert3, etc.
The message window returns Successful when each file is successfully saved.
Then I opened the Trusted tab and clicked Import each file that I had served earlier (cert1, cert2, cert3, etc).
The message box returns Successful each time a file is successfully imported.
I then removed (click Remove) each certificate in the Unstrusted tab (clear all certificates).
Then I reboot my laptop.
OUTCOME
Now my Google Chrome works ok again. There are still little problems though but at least it works again.

SoftOrbits Photo Retoucher
Software Review by Faridah Abdul Rashid
This is a simple software program that does not require any knowledge of high technology to clean up photos and make them look like professionally touched-up photos. This program is a great help for cleaning up old portraits and making them look great again. This is my first time using it and I'm writing this review after the first usage.

This is a simple software program that does not require any knowledge of high technology to clean up photos and make them look like professionally touched-up photos. This program is a great help for cleaning up old portraits and making them look great again. This is my first time using it and I'm writing this review after the first usage.
When
I first opened the program, I tried to touch up a portrait for one of my books
for publication. It was a photo which I artificially created from two photos of
the same person but the photos were at different times. I made a composite
portrait but I did not know how to proceed after that. I thought of all the
other software programs I knew, but none could do a good job this quickly. They
all took time and required a lot of hard disk space for installation, and also needed
a lot of RAM. This new program is very different and much easier to use. All
the tools for tweaking are in one window. There are new tools in this program,
which are not present in all the programs that I have used in the past. The one
that I particularly find very useful is the Scratch Remover. I did not know
what it would actually do but I tried that first and it did wonders! I kept
pressing on Remove Contrast repeatedly till the portrait became perfect without
scratch marks and ugly lines. I still had a problem with the portrait as it was
artificially created. I then used the Concealer brush. I am not an English user,
and I was not too sure what that word meant. Anyway I tried that intuitively
and it worked.
The tools mean and do what they are supposed
to do. I have not tried all the features but so far, most are easy to learn and
use right away. There is the last icon/button which I tried but I did not see
anything different – this is the Image Correction. I don’t know what it is
supposed to do. There is also the Marker tool, which I tried, but I didn’t know
how to proceed after that. I will need to try many times more before I can
write a better review. This is surely a good program if you really need to get
your job done.

Broadband in Malaysia today
National Broadband Initiative (NBI)
Highspeed Broadband Zone 2 (HSBB2)
What are the types of services available today?
http://www.skmm.gov.my/attachment/pdf/SKMM-Ovum_Industry_Briefing_1.pdf
What does it cost to obtain Internet access in Malaysia now?
Fixed wire telephone (RM30/mo) + Internet subscription (RM79/mo) = RM109/mo
Broadband USB stick (RM189) + Internet subscription (RM60/mo) = RM249
Is the average-income family able to obtain Internet access?
Yes
Can poor families obtain Internet access?
No, the service is still expensive for many poor families
Are there still people who do not have Internet access in Kelantan (supposedly the poorest state in Malaysia)?
Yes. These are poor families who cannot afford the monthly subscription for Internet, so their school-going children do not have Internet at home. The children seek Internet access at their classmate's home or go to see their teachers about this problem (teachers have Internet at home).
Are schoolchildren interested in the Internet?
Yes
What do schoolchildren like about the Internet?
They can find resources for their class assignments and presentations. They never knew there is so much useful information about the world they live in.
Is the Internet useful at all?
Yes
Will the Internet continue to exist?
Yes
Has the Internet impacted on life at all?
Yes. We depend on the Internet for everything - income tax filing, university websites, library collections, e-mail, Facebook, Geni, blogs, govt websites, are among the useful ones.
What are the bad things about the Internet?
Borderless, a lot of porn material are still online, spam, bluffs and fakes, imposters, money suckers, scams, cheats, unreal reality, hard to tell what is true, most stuff are untrue except those from govt websites and known companies. Sometimes it is not worth visiting some websites.

SKMM
The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, MCMC (Suruhanjaya dan Komunikasi Multimedia Malaysia, SKMM) is a Government body that sees to the implementation of ICT in Malaysia. It determines what sort of ICT is needed, for what purpose and sets the rules and guidelines. It also produces data about the ICT roll-outs and usage in Malaysia, every year. it determines what ICT penetration is needed for Malaysia. http://www.skmm.gov.my/

The last Government-set target for ICT penetration in 2010 for Malaysia was 50%. We were told at yesterday's Minggu IT 2012 held at Universiti Sains Malaysia in Kubang Kerian on 29 February 2012, that we have exceeded this target. From 2009 data published by SKMM, we have a population of 29.6 million people (Q3 2009) and 16 million Internet users (Q1 2009). This gives an Internet penetration of 54% (Q1 2009).
Highspeed Broadband Zone 2 (HSBB2) (PDF)
For Kelantan, the ICT peneration is still short of the targeted 50%; Kelantan has approximately 40-44% ICT penetration. So a lot of ICT work needs to be done for Kelantan in order to get it up to the targeted 50% so the population of Kelantan benefits from ICT.

In the Kampung Tanpa Wayar Project, Maxis Mobile Sdn Bhd is the Designated Service Provider (DSP) responsible for providing WiFi to Kelantan, under the 'Kampung Tanpa Wayar Project' under the Collective Broadband Access Phase 1, SKMM. Online Digital Review of Asia Pacific (e-DIRAP)
This is the Online Digital Review of Asia Pacific and its call to be online as the print edition is expensive, slow and difficult to publish on time.
http://www.digital-review.org/
The new e-DIRAP is seeking the collaboration of netizens in an open, participatory manner, to sustain its mission of reviewing, analyzing, forecasting and reporting on ICT and development issues.
DIRAP has been a biennial comprehensive review of the state of diffusion, adoption and application of ICTs in 30 economies of the Asia Pacific region. The print publication model has been expensive and time-consuming to produce, and providing current ICT data such as country statistics has been a characteristic weakness, given the lengthy print preparation cycle causing the timeliness to fall behind.

Bluetooth for cars
Hands-free speakerphones for use in cars come under bluetooth for cars. When a call comes in on a smartphone (eg iPhone), the call goes into the car system if the smartphone is docked, and the call operates immediately through the car's system, and everyone in the car can listen to the conversation. This is alright for business calls and if the message can be heard by others.
However, if the call is private and to a person (the car driver), if the call accidentally goes into the car's speakerphone system or transmitted through the FM channel, it can be embarrassing for the others to listen to the personal call. In this case, the caller must alert by texting (SMS) the car driver first and then only call, so that the car's speakerphone is switched off and the call taken personally, without the others listening to what is said.
Bluetooth are available in most highly priced cars such as the Mercedes, BMW and Audi.

WebGL Implementation
zygote BODY |
The WebGL 1.0 specification has recently been released, and the latest builds of several browsers are close to reaching full conformance. Here are instructions on how to obtain a copy of a browser supporting the WebGL specification. As various implementations reach 100% conformance, expect that browsers will have this functionality built in to their latest releases, and not require any manual steps to enable it.
