My brother Amin came with his friend to visit my family at home. Amin brought along his new Apple gadgets - iPad and MacBook Pro which he bought from Mac Studio at Low Yatt Plaza in Kuala Lumpur. Prices are:

Malaysian price @ Low Yatt Plaza

+- Micro SD card for operating phone = RM100 (Maxis)

iPad

The iPad comes in only one size - a standard size. It has a big colour screen which is roughly four times larger than the iPhone screen. When buying, always request to see the unopened box and check to see the box's origin - California/Hong Kong/China/etc. Only buy if it's Made in California. The iPad is very thin - slim. One slack about the iPad is when it is charging, it may display Not Charging or Charging. Have to purchase a separate RGB cable for LCD projection. Have to separately purchase a small sim card from Maxis to operate the phone in iPad. This micro SD card is RM100 and available from Maxis. It is not worth operating the phone in iPad (use your own handphone). iPad comes as 32-bit or 64-bit. The 32-bit iPad is sufficient for the average user. The 64-bit iPad is preferred for the heavy duty user. Turning on/shutdown is swift in iPad - just push the ON/OFF button. There is no need to do shutdown as in the laptop. When the iPad is turned on, it immediately displays the desktop. The iPad desktop changes when the iPad is rotated (portrait or horizontal). There is no harddisk (HD) in the iPad. It operates on iTune (have to download iTune). The iPad links to iTune and everything works on iTune. Programs are downloaded via App Download. There are 150 applications, some are free, some are subscription-based. Payment for each app is USD2-10 (pay by credit card online). The application called Bookshelf is a useful feature for selecting resources for reading - operates like an e-book. Have to separately purchase an anti-glare screen cover for RM20 (or negotiate FOC). Can purchase a German Sennheiser headphone to listen to the iPhone. A second slack is the iPad needs Internet in order to operate - must have broadband WiFi access.

MacBook Pro

This is a slim laptop with a 15" display. The keyboard is pushed toward the hinge area. Has Intel i7 chip. An innovation is a special cord for magnetic attachment in place of USB, to avoid overheating.

iPhone3

iPhone3 runs 3G. 3G signal is good is some areas.

iPhone4

iPhone 4 runs 4G. 4G signal is very poor and this is the only problem. The phone has to be turned a certain direction to obtain 4G signal.

Blackberry

Blackberry is known for its e-mail features.

How to remove Windows Not Genuine msg

This message is very annoying.
It popped up while I was delivering a talk at a rehearsal.

This is how to remove that annoying message:

Go to Google and type this file: removeWAT.exe
Download via RapidShare and install.
The error message will be gone for good.
